FLYING

As my soul slowly rises upwards
I see the earthly shell that once was me
My loved ones at my side
Their tears of love lost… falling
Oh, how I will miss them so
Knowing one day together we will be again

My soul is reluctant to go
I cannot hold or comfort them
No pain or torment now
I can only take their love with me
The only gift that lies heavy upon the human heart
But the only gift worth keeping

I hear my masters voice beckoning to me
I must go now as I take one last glance behind
My eyes look upwards toward the paramount
I feel the air as it softly brushes my wings
Lifting me slowly upwards
The gentle wind peaceful and soothing

I'm flying now
Beyond the point where:
sun rays glisten
Skies so ever clear and blue as the oceans
Green lush valleys and snow topped mountains
Beyond where eagles soar

Freedom so unimaginable
